Voting Question: Rebuilt Transmision as replacement for 1 yr old new car under warrenty?
I have a 1 1/2 yr old truck and its under warranty for 100k or 5 yrs, it is currently at 12,000 miles. The radiator went out and that was replaced and flushed out, only to take it home and 1 week later found it was slipping and not driving correct. The dealership then replaced it for a “rebuilt transmission” and would not extend my warrenty for the transmission and claimed all they could put is a rebuilt transmission, they don’t make brand new ones to put in trucks unless its on the assembly line to being manufactured.
My dad told me rebuilt trannys don’t last as long and to tell the dealership its a lemon and i want a replacement or a brand new transmission.
Any one know the lemon laws on this? or if this rebuilt tranny is the only option or if they can in fact replace it for a new one? I am a clueless 20 something girl so auto’s are not my forte.
and yes this is a GMC. I know I know…..
