Resolved Question: How can I end a car lease, an auto lease, for safety issues?
I leased a new car 4 months ago. Twice it has had the same safety problem - when I’m driving the car, all of a sudden it accelerates to a high speed. I’ve been lucky so far, I was able to stop it by shutting off the car, but if this happens again I may have an accident, hit another car, or even a pedestrian. The car dealership couldn’t replicate the situation but said it was fixed the first time, and then it happened again. And now they’re trying to fix it again - another type of fix. I am afraid to drive this vehicle and will not let friends and family drive it and I’m even afraid to have others ride with me. How can I get out of my lease. I live in Virginia and the Lemon law here covers leased vehicles, but do I need to pay a lawyer to just try and stay alive?
