Resolved Question: How to keep from paying for a new license plate. =S?
I’m going car shopping in a couple of months. Well my first car broke so I dropped the insurance and turned the tag in. Well when I bought my 2nd car the dealership had my tag ready for me before my paper tag expired. It was paid through all the fees in stuff during the F&I process. Well it turned out to be a lemon so I got rid of it through the BBB and with the help of the lemon laws and Tallahassee and dropped the insurance on the car but kept my policy in case I bought another one. I also turned the tag in from the second car, too. Well I couldn’t get another car anytime soon and I canceled my policy with Geico. Well a year later I’m in the car game again and was wondering since I have 2 tags that I turned in, how would I go about getting one of them so I don’t have to pay that $100 fee for a tag, and/or keeping the dealer from adding it into all the fees and stuff? They gave me papers saying that I turned the tags in but I can’t find them and was wondering if i need them, since every thing’s on file.
BTW can I just get auto insurance before I get a car, that way all I have to do is have it added on there? OR do I just do like I did last year and get auto insurance & the car @ the same time when I’m @ the dealership.
I’m in college and have great credit and had to cars that was junk in high school. My last car was a honda accord that I was paying for. Now I’m well aware of lemons and the stress/hassles that come with them. Need a simple car to get me to work and school and home. Thanks! My credit union said I was approved up to like X amount of $ @ 5.5% apr. A really great deal! But that was MONTHS ago. And I don’t have any derogatory accounts on my credit reports. Everything is all positive and good standing. So I’m just still saving. Got my down payment but want to have a little extra just for a few car payments. You never know. Thanks!
BTW I LIVE IN FLORIDA!
